is a unique place to have a glimpse of Asiatic
lions, which is one of its kinds in the world,
and is sprawling over 1412 sq km. Surrounded by
wonderful deciduous forests interspersed with
semi evergreen and evergreen flora, acacia, scrub
jungle, grasslands and rocky hills m ake this
location an attractive destination to visit.
Gujarat and particularly
Saurashtra has a rich heritage since many years.

Gujarat is home to a
large number of wild animals and birds. One of

about 350 lions and more then 400 leopards. Besides,
you can witness animals like Sambar, spotted deer,
blue bull, chousingha (the world's only four-horned
antelope), chinkara and wild boar at Gir, Gujarat.
There are also 250 types of birds and about 50
other species of birds at the park including the
painted sand grouse, grey francolin, Asian paradise
flycatcher, white-browed fantail, and Asian brown
forest is surrounded by perennial and seasonal
rivers and streams. The large water bodies at
the park like the Khodiyar Dam.
